Gemstones come in virtually any color in the spectrum and each gem can come in a variety of hues as well. Prices for gems vary depending on factors such as the gem's rarity, durability and popularity. A gem's value can be determined by many other factors such as size, clarity, cut and enhancements made to that gem. Every month in the calendar year has its own birthstone.
